Following on from the Longitudinal Flying Qualities and Lateral Directional Flying Qualities modules, this exercise module gives you the chance to practise the test methods you have learned. Given the task of evaluating an aircraft’s suitability for a task, you will be required to plan and execute each flight in teams, and write individual reports to present your analysis and conclusions.
High-Order Flight Control Systems (HOFCS) allow the aircraft designer to provide excellent handling qualities for the pilot and to optimise the performance of an aircraft to the task.
